UDC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors; Eight Individual Firebirds Earn Scholar Athlete Awards

TEMPE, AZ – Both the men’s and women’s University of the District of Columbia tennis teams earned the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors, and eight individual Firebird student-athletes from both teams earned ITA Scholar-Athlete awards as announced by the ITA on Tuesday, July 25th.

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 6 seeded University of the District of Columbia men’s tennis team was defeated, 5-1 by No. 3 seed New York Institute of Technology in the first round of the NCAA Division II East Region tournament hosted by Chestnut Hill College.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia’s Rok Bozic and Alexis Baguelin earned First and Second Team All-East Coast Conference Men’s Tennis distinctions, respectively, as voted on by the league’s coaches and announced on Thursday, April 20th ahead of this weekend’s ECC Championship Tournament.
