UDC Men’s Tennis Awaits Potential NCAA Division II Tournament Bid with Tonight’s Selection Show

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team will find out tonight if it has earned a bid in the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament East Regional as the "Selection Show" airs live tonight on the NCAA website at 8:30 PM (ET).

The top-seven ranked teams in the East Region earn bids to the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament, and head coach Dickie Mahaffey's Firebirds squad has been ranked No. 6 in all three consecutive weekly regional polls.

UDC is 6-7 overall this season, including a 6-5 mark vs. NCAA Division II foes and 5-5 record against Division II East Region teams. The Firebirds boast a 5-4 victory vs. the No. 7 ranked team in the region, Merrimack, back on March 16th, and they competed fiercely in losses against each of the top-three ranked teams in the region this spring.

Mahaffey's squad seeks its 4th NCAA Division II East Regional appearance in six years.
