NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team is ranked No. 6 in the first official NCAA Division II East Region poll announced Wednesday, April 5th.

The Firebirds (5-3, 2-1 ECC) have won five of six matches this spring, including a 5-4 victory over the No. 7 ranked team in the region, Merrimack, back on March 16th. UDC's only loss this spring came to the No. 1 ranked team in the region, East Coast Conference foe, Queens College (NY).

The NCAA will release regional rankings every week moving forward until the completion of all the conference championship tournaments. The top-7 ranked teams in the final men's East Region poll receive NCAA Division II Tournament bids.

Next up for the Firebirds is a home conference match vs. Roberts Wesleyan College (11-9, 0-1 ECC) on Friday, April 7th. UDC then goes on to host two back-to-back regionally-ranked teams next week in No. 2 Chestnut Hill College (Monday, April 10th at 1 p.m.) and No. 3 New York Institute of Technology (Friday, April 14th at 12 p.m.).
