61 UDC Student-Athletes Named to the ECC Commissoner's Honor Roll

West Babylon, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference announced on Thursday afternoon that over 1,400 student-athletes from the conference's 10 member schools and 14 associate member schools have been named to the league’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2021-2022 season. UDC boasts 61 Student-Athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
UDC Men's Soccer Volunteers Efforts in "Leveling the Playing field"

WASHINGTON, DC- Leveling the Playing Field, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, and the Qatar embassy, in conjunction with UDC CAUSES 4-H soccer program and the UDC Soccer team, facilitated an event where 50 youth had received new soccer cleats and soccer balls. In addition, the UDC soccer team conducted a soccer clinic for all the youth involved in the event.

The Ceremony awarded MVPs, Coaches Awards, Academic honor roll, and the most prestigious award of the day, the Reslyn Henley Memorial Award.

UDC Names Athletic Complex After Noted Alumnus Dr. Edwin Bancroft Henderson

WASHINGTON – The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) will honor the late Dr. Edwin B. Henderson by renaming its sports complex after him. Dr. Henderson was given the name “Grandfather of Black Basketball” for his legacy and contribution to sports in the District of Columbia.

ROCKVILLE, N.Y.- After a tough battle to a scoreless draw, the University of the District of Columbia’s men’s soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss, falling 4-5 in penalty kicks to Molloy College in the ECC Semifinals, Wednesday night at the John A. Darcy Field. No. 2 seeded UDC fell to an overall record of 8-5-4, and No.3 seeded Molloy improved to 9-6-4 to advance to the ECC finals to face off against the No.1 seeded team St Thomas Aquinas College.

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia’s men’s soccer team soared to a 3-0 shutout victory over Bloomsburg on Wednesday afternoon at the RFK Fields. Freshman forward Ignacio Pericet came off the bench to register two goals leading the Firebirds offensively with four points. UDC improved to an 8-4-2 record and Bloomsburg fell to a 9-7 record.
