Vitor Gomes Named D2 CCA All-American

POMONA, CALIF.- Vitor Gomes was named to the 2021 Division II Conference Commissioner Association (D2CCA) Second All-American team, as announced Wednesday morning by the organization. Gomes was one of 39 student-athletes from 29 institutions to make the All-American team. He also became the second All-American in the men's soccer program history (the first being Gabriel Torres back in 2017).

Gomes (Fortaleza, Ceará-Brazil) was also named to the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association's First All-East Region team, the United Soccer Coaches First All-East region team, the East Coast Conference First-Team and selected as the ECC Offensive Player of the year. He was ranked sixth in the country for game-winning goals, second in the ECC for goals (12), and third in the ECC for points (27).

Gomes led the Firebirds to a second-place regular-season finish in the ECC, the highest in program history. He also helped the Firebirds go 11 games straight unbeaten (a new record for the Firebirds) and helped secure a bid into the ECC playoffs, for the second time in program history.
