UDC Women’s Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award; Benjamin & Mais Earn Individual All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The University of the District of Columbia women’s track & field team was one of 115 women’s teams selected by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team, and seniors Jerily Benjamin and Kimoy Mais were both selected as individual All-Academics.

INDIANAPOLIS – For the sixth year, the NCAA is inviting more than 200 current student-athletes and NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipients, with an interest in working within sports, to the Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis June 4-7. Selected to attend from the East Coast Conference is track & field student-athlete Kimoy Mais from the University of the District of Columbia.

Simone Grant Earns ECC Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - University of the District of Columbia's Simone Grant earned the honor of East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, as voted on by the conference's coaches. A host of Firebirds took home First and Second Team All-ECC honors as the league announced the All-Conference winners based on performance at the Championship meet.

ROCHESTER, NY – Looking to win its 2nd straight East Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship in just its 3rd ever appearance, the University of the District of Columbia could not overcome the depth of the vaunted Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks, but did, however, place 2nd in the team standings with remarkable efforts in the sprint events and impressive finishes in the field events.
