
Seven Firebirds Named USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Honorees
Washington, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women's track & field program continues to set the standard in excellence, with seven Firebirds earning USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Region honors for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season.
The All-Region distinction is awarded to the top five individuals in each event from each region, as well as the members of each region's top three relay teams.
Zoe Shaw – High Jump and Triple Jump
Shaw earned double All-Region honors with standout performances in the high jump and triple jump. Shaw hit a regional best mark of 1.65m in the hight jump, winning the event at the ECC Championships. She also hit a season best mark of 11.66m in the triple jump.
Kyndra Hines – 100 Meter Hurdles
In just her freshman season, Hines made an immediate impact, clocking one of the region's best times and earning her first All-Region nod. She won the 100m hurdles at the ECC Championships clocking in at a season best 14.54s.
Kayla Cooper – 100 Meters
Cooper continues to lead UDC's sprint, winning the 100m at the ECC Championships clocking in at 12.18s in just her second 100m of the season.
Samantha Morrison – 800 Meters
Morrison's breakout season in the mid-distance events was capped with a top-five regional performance in the 800m. She ran a PR of 2:15.64, at the Morgn State Legacy meet.
Emmanuela Katou Kouami – Hammer Throw
The reigning ECC champion and school record holder continues her dominance in the throws, earning All-Region honors in the hammer with one of the East Region's top marks. Katou Kouami hit the second best mark in the Hammer with a mark of 51.29m.
4x400 Meter Relay Team – All-Region Honors
The Firebirds' 4x400m relay squad—featuring Cooper, Tukey Francis, Yalix Lina and Morrison—posted the second best time in the East Region, at the Penn Relays back in April clocking in at 3:53.44 to qualify for the finals.
