UDC Claims First Place as Emmanuela Kouami-Katou Sets New School Record

Winchester, Va- The University of the District of Columbia women's track and field team dominated the competition at the Kaye & JJ Invitational, earning first place overall with 133 points and celebrating a historic performance by Emmanuela Katou Kouami, who set a new school record in the weight throw with a mark of 15.08m.

Meet Highlights

  • Weight Throw: Emmanuela Kouami-Katou took first place with a throw of 15.08m
  • Shot Put: Kouami-Katou also earned second place with a season best throw of 10.79m.
  • High Jump: Zoe Shaw secured second place, clearing a season best 1.60m 

The Firebirds are back in action next Saturday, traveling to New York to compete in the HBCU Classic.
