DC Women’s Tennis Dominates Daemen University in Conference Opener
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team defeated Daemen University 6-1 in their first East Coast Conference match up of the season. The Firebird secured a commanding victory to improve to 1-0 on the season.

Doubles Play:
- Desire Parn and Polina Zelentsova led the charge in doubles, earning a dominant 6-2 victory over Daemen's top pair, Rubio Talayero and Bjerkan.
- The duo of Claudia Bahamon Lopez and Célia Bastin continued UDC's winning form, defeating Scime and Del Leon 6-2 to clinch the doubles point for the Firebirds.
- Lina Benjelloun and Nadja Zmukic completed the doubles sweep with a hard-fought 6-4 win against Armitage and Baier.
Singles Play:
- Desire Parn fell to Frida Rubio Talayero of Daemen 6-3, 6-3, at the No.1 position.
- Polina Zelentsova set the tone with a flawless performance, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Kyriakitsa Scime.
- Claudia Bahamon Lopez secured a solid 6-2, 6-1 victory against Yinnet Del Leon, while Célia Bastin defeated Carly Armitage 6-2, 6-2.
- Lina Benjelloun and Nadja Zmukic rounded out the day with strong performances, defeating their respective opponents in straight sets.
