
BouKnight's Double-Double and Johnson's Season-High 27 Points Propels UDC to Conference Victory Over STAC
Sparkhill, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), 78-65, on Wednesday night at Aquinas Hall. Led by Laci Johnson's season-high 27-point outing, the Firebirds controlled the game from start to finish to secure a crucial conference win. This also marked the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Firebirds have defeated STAC at Aquinas Hall.
The Firebirds came out strong, outscoring the Spartans in each of the first three quarters, establishing a commanding 58-42 lead heading into the final frame. Despite a late push by St. Thomas Aquinas, UDC held steady, capitalizing on their offensive efficiency and defensive efforts.
Laci Johnson led the Firebirds with 27 points, including five three-pointers. Jada Bouknight was a force in the paint, securing her first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Contributions from Kristian Harris (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Nia Ford (11 points) rounded out a balanced team effort.
Syrita Faraj led the Spartans with game-high's of 30 points and 18 rebounds.
