UDC Women’s Basketball Falls to Holy Family University in Season Opener
Staten Island, NY - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team opened the 2024-2025 season with a 71-51 loss to Holy Family University on Friday evening at the Sports & Recreation Center. Despite a strong performance from Laci Johnson, who led UDC with 18 points, the Firebirds were unable to overcome a tough Holy Family defense.
Holy Family jumped out to an early lead, ending the first quarter up 19-13, and maintained control throughout the game. UDC struggled in the second quarter, managing only 8 points, while Holy Family increased their lead to 40-21 by halftime.
