
Karos Scores Lone Point in Firebirds Loss to Queens
Flushing, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Queens College in their East Coast Conference (ECC) opener, on Friday afternoon at the QC Indoor Tennis Bubble. Oskar Karos went 2-0 against the Knights winning in both doubles and in singles play.
The Firebirds captured a win at the No. 3 doubles spot as Oskar Karos and Filippo Vatteroni edged out Samuel Linck and David Cerne 7-5. The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams fell short, giving Queens College the early 1-0 advantage.
Karos delivered a standout performance at No. 5 singles, battling through a three-set thriller to defeat Adam Laur 6-4, 2-6, 10-7, securing UDC's lone point.
UDC (2-3, 0-1 ECC) is back at home next thursday for a 12:00pm match up against Chestnut Hill.
