Ignacio Lopez Earns D2 CCA All-East Region Honors

Washington, DC - UDC men's soccer sophomore midfielder Ignacio Lopez was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner Association (D2 CCA) All-East Region Second Team as was announced today by the organization.

A second team All-Conference selection, Lopez Played in 15 games and started in 12. He scored two goals in the 2-1 win conference win over St Thomas Aquinas College, which ws a turning point for UDC,  keeping their play-off hopes alive. 

Lopez posted a game-high 6 goals and 6 assists on the season to end with 18 points and two game winners. Lopez was integral to the success of the Firebirds leading them to their first ever ECC Championship title. He scored three goals and dished out two assists in the three games of the ECC tournament earning the programs first ever Most Outstanding player award.
