PHILADELPHIA, PA- the University of the District of Columbia's men's soccer team battled back from a 0-2 first half deficit to draw with Holy Family University, Thursday night at the Tiger Field.
Diego Meza- Baez scored the Firebirds first goal and assisted Liam Thompson in the game-tying goal.
UDC conceded two goals in the first half going into half-time down 0-2. Five minutes into the second half a cross from Joseluiz Avalos to Eduardo Bugay to Meza-Baez resulted in the Firebirds first goal of the game. Ten minutes later, Meza-Baez sent a pass to Thompson that also found the back of the net to tie the game 2-2.
The Tigers had the slight edge in shots (10-7) and corner kicks (6-5).
Up next, UDC (5-6-6, 3-1-4 ECC) will await the results of the final conference match ups this weekend to determine their seed for the ECC tournament. The Firebirds are still in the position to host a potential first round game. More details TBA.
