Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's soccer team suffered a tough loss against Queens college, in a conference showdown, on Wednesday afternoon at the UDC Field.
Vitor Gomes scored the first goal to put the Firebirds up 1-0, a little over five minutes into the game. He was followed up soon after by a goal from Queens Cristian Villalta. The rest of the half saw the Firebirds conceding four more goals to put the Knights up 1-5 going into half time.
The First twenty minutes of the second half saw Malik Thom and Ryan Dagley, each sending a shot to the back of the net bringing the Firebirds back in contention with the score 3-5. Their momentum was put to rest after the Knights scored two more goal ending the game 3-7.
Up next UDC (4-8, 2-2 ECC) will host St Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday October 19th at 1:00pm.
