DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - the University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to Mercy University 2-22, in their conference opener.
Dylan Donaldson and Julian Schemm were responsible for the Firebirds two goals on the day.
The Firebirds struggled to clear the ball going 14-31, while the Mavericks went 14-16. UDC won a total of four face-offs compared to Mercy's 22 and the Firebirds turned the ball over 30 times. The visiting Mavericks outshot the Firebirds 52-14.
Up next, UDC (1-6, 0-1 ECC) will host Molloy University next Saturday in their second home contest of the season. The game is slated to begin at 1:00pm.
