Firebirds Defeated By Bears at Home

Washington, D.C. - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team suffered an 82-70 loss to Bloomfield College on Saturday afternoon at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex. Despite a strong effort, the Firebirds were unable to keep pace with Bloomfield's high-scoring offense.

Bloomfield took control early, leading 46-39 at halftime behind Hearns' dominant scoring. UDC closed the gap briefly in the second half, but a 36-point second-half performance by Bloomfield sealed the victory for the visiting team.

Khyrie Staten led UDC with 15 points and 5 assists, while Greg Williams added 14 points, including 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Gene Anderson contributed 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a strong defensive effort.
