
Firebirds Finish Second at Coach Caslin Classic
Baltimore, M.D. -The University of the District of Columbia women's cross country team delivered a commendable performance at the Goucher Invitational, with standout finishes by Ayesha Jarrett and Samantha Morrison leading the Firebirds to a competitive team showing.
Ayesha Jarrett finished 6th overall with a time of 28:07.89 and Samantha Morrison followed closely behind, finishing in 10th place with a time of 29:04.12. Other notable UDC finishers include Yalix Lina (14th, 32:29.45), Mariela Hernandez (15th, 32:58.66), and Janel Baxter (17th, 33:58.65).
The Firebirds placed second in a competitive field that included teams from Goucher, Coppin State, Gallaudet, and Notre Dame (Md.).
The Firebirds will now gear up for the ECC Championships on October 26th, in Amherst N.Y.
