NEWARK, Del. – The University of the District of Columbia women’s basketball team completed a perfect opening weekend at the Wilmington Tip-Off Tournament, rolling past Wilmington (Del.) 74–36 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Firebirds finish the weekend 2–0, building momentum to open the 2025–26 season.

(Nov. 14, 2025) – The University of the District of Columbia women’s basketball team opened the 2025–26 season with a gritty 43–37 victory over Goldey-Beacom on Friday evening in Day 1 of the Wilmington Tip-Off Tournament. The Firebirds held the Lightning under 40 points and used a dominant performance on the glass to secure the win.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia Women’s Basketball team has announced its 2025–26 schedule, featuring 13 home contests and a challenging lineup of East Coast Conference (ECC) and regional non-conference opponents. Under the leadership of Head Coach John Nakpodia, the Firebirds aim to build momentum heading into the new season after being picked 6th in the ECC Preseason Coaches Poll.
