Firebirds Conclude Regular Season with 7-0 Victory Over Trojans
WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team defeated Virginia State University, 7-0, to conclude the 2022-23 regular season with a three game winning streak. They finish with a 12-6, 4-1 ECC record, while the Trojans fall to 10-3.
The doubles point came down to the No.3 position after the Firebirds won at No.1 and the Trojans won at No.2. The duo of Laura Marie and Claudia Bahamon would defeat their opponeents to the score of 6-3 to give the UDC the one point advantage going into singles play.
The Firebirds went on to sweep all the singles points with the clinching point coming at the No.2 spot where Mariona Franco defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-1.
