Firebirds Complete Clean Sweep Win over Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The University of the District of Columbia Women's Tennis team was in unstoppable form as they completed a successful trip to Pennsylvania with a 7-0 win over Chestnut Hill on Monday afternoon.

The Firebirds (13-2, 5-2 ECC) started the day very well when they won two of the three doubles matches with the third being won by default.

Singles play was no different as UDC took wins in all six matches. With No. 5 and No. 6 being won by default. The win by Joanna Skrzypczynska at No. 2 was enough to give the Firebirds the win on the day. Freshman Izabella Bilecova shortly followed with an 8-0 win at No. 4.

The remaining two games played were finished with Sofia Bellucco winning at No. 3 by a score of 8-0. And the final game was wrapped up when Simoné Pärn won her No. 1 game 6-3, 7-6.

The Firebirds will return to action on Friday, March 13th at Rock Creek Center when they face Millersville at 12:45 PM.
