Defending Champion District of Columbia Earns No. 3 Seed in East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship

FLUSHING, NY – Reigning East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Champion, University of the District of Columbia, has earned a No. 3 seed in this year's ECC Championship Tournament hosted by Queens College. The Firebirds (6-2, 4-2 ECC) will square off against No. 2 seed NYIT (9-1, 6-2 ECC) on Friday, October 5th at 11 a.m.

Following the Firebirds vs. Bears match will be No. 1 seed and host, Queens College taking on No. 4 seed Molloy at 2 p.m. The winner of these two semifinal matches will meet in the Finals on Saturday, October 6th at 11 a.m.

District of Columbia lost their only meeting this season with NYIT on the road back on September 8th, 9-0; however, the Firebirds went on to win five of their final six regular season matches, including their final three.
