Bio

Jasmine Rich returns to the University of the District of Columbia for her first season as the assistant women’s basketball coach. Rich is a former alumna of the University of the District of Columbia playing the point guard position for the 2008-2012 seasons. 

Rich, who was also a track and field student-athlete at the university, made stops in athletic administration and academic advising before returning to coach women’s basketball. Since graduating from UDC Rich has served in a variety of roles in collegiate Athletics. She was hired in 2013 as the Athletic Academic Advisory/Eligibility Specialist and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Advisor for Coppin State University.

She served as the Assistant Women's Basketball coach for the 2014-15 season, at Cumberland County College where she helped guide the Dukes to a 25-3 record, the first Garden State Athletic Conference regular season title, the first NJCAA Region XIX Championship title and the first NJCAA National tournament bid in school history. With a focus on guard development, the season ended with two guards on the Second Team All-Region; one of the players earning the Rose Battaglia Region XIX All-Tournament MVP award, averaging 17.8 points per game and 4.6 assists per game.

During her playing career, the firebirds went to the NCAA Tournament in 2009 as an independent school with a record of 24-5 and led the team to the NCAA tournament again in 2012. She was ranked 13th in the nation in assists during her junior year and finished 5th in the ECC in assists during her senior year, after the university joined the conference during her last season in 2012. 

A native of Willingboro, New Jersey, Rich earned her bachelor of business administration from the University of the District of Columbia as well as her master of science in kinesiology with a concentration of athletic administration from Indiana University.
