Firebirds Struggle Offensively in Loss to D’Youville

Buffalo, NY - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team fell to D'Youville, 61-40, in an East Coast Conference (ECC) matchup at the Saints Center Gym. The Firebirds battled throughout but struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 21.2% from the field. Thde Firebirds slip to 5-4 in conference play will the Saints improve to 3-6.

UDC managed only seven points in the first quarter, falling behind early. The Firebirds forced eight steals but couldn't overcome D'Youville's efficient shooting. Tori Williams recorded a team-high 17 points and 9 rebounds coming off the bench and Laci Johnson added 15 points and 6 rebounds. D'Youville was led by Sofie Fuglsang, who tallied 24 points and went 6-for-8 from three-point range.
