
Firebirds Defeat Wildcats 5-2 in Conference Match up
Williamsville, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia Men's Tennis team delivered a dominant performance against Daemen College on Saturday, securing a 5-2 victory in a competitive ECC matchup. The Firebirds improve to 2-1 in conference play.
The Firebirds dominated the doubles round, sweeping all three matches to earn the doubles point. The UDC pairs of Louis Mangeon/Louka Queguiner, Sebastiano Palma/Elouan Queguiner, and Ghali Ouajahat Filali/Gabreleul Yacob all defeated their opponents to the score of 6-3.
Ghali Ouajahat Filali delivered a dominant performance at No. 5 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 against Jayven Williamson to enxtend the lead to 2-0. The Wildcats responded with a win at No.6 and No.1 to even the score at 2-2.
At No. 3 singles, Elouan Queguiner secured a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win over Lucas Garcia Angarita, followed by Sebastiano Palma who clinched the match with a 7-6(3), 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles against Rohan Chitanand.
Louka Queguiner battled through a tough match at No. 2 singles, edging Alex Lumanog in a third-set tiebreaker 7-5, 3-6, 1-0(4) to bring the final score to 5-2.
