Elouan Queguiner Earns ECC Rookie of the Week

Washington, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia's Men's Tennis Freshman, Elouan Queguiner has been named Rookie of the Week following an outstanding performance on the court. The freshman from La Ciotat, France, went undefeated (4-0) across singles and doubles play, helping lead the Firebirds to a perfect 2-0 record for the week. Louis Mangeon, Louka Queguiner and Oskar Karos were also named to the Honor Roll.

In UDC's 5-2 victory over Chestnut Hill College, Queguiner teamed up with Ghali Ouajahat Filali for a dominant 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles before securing a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory over Menno Raeymaekers at No. 4 singles.

Queguiner continued his momentum in the 7-0 sweep over Frostburg State, pairing with Sebastiano Palma for a 6-3 doubles win at No. 2. He then capped off his perfect week with a commanding 6-3, 6-0 victory over Matt Bolen at No. 4 singles.

Mangeon went 3-1 at No. 1 doubles and singles, in a 2-0 week for the Firebirds. In the 5-2 win over Chestnut Hill, he battled back to defeat Pablo Cervera 0-6, 7-6(9), (6-1) to clinch the match. In the 7-0 sweep of Frostburg State, he teamed up with Louka Queguiner, to defeat their opponents 6-4 at No. 1. He went on to defeat Cole Alcala (FSU) 4-6, 7-5, 1-0(4) at No. 1 singles. 

Queguiner went 3-1 at No.1 doubles and No.2 singles in a 2-0 week for UDC. In the 5-2 win over Chestnut Hill, he defeated Alessio Lefevre (CHC) 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. In the 7-0 win over Frostburg State, he defeated German Diaz Martin (FSU) 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 singles after teaming up with Mangeon to defeat their opponents 6-4 at No.1 doubles.

Karos went 3-1 in a 2-0 week for UDC. In the 5-2 win over Chestnut Hill he defeated Filppo Relecom (CHC) 7-6(1), 6-3 at No. 3 singles. In the 7-0 win over Frostburg State he teamed up with Filippo Vatteroni to defeat their opponents 6-1 at No. 3 doubles before going on to clinch the match with a victory over Noah Fisher (FSU) 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
