Firebirds Sweep Frostburg State in 7-0 Victory
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance, shutting out Frostburg State University 7-0 to improve their season record to 4-3. The Firebirds were in control from start to finish, sweeping both doubles and singles matches.
UDC started strong in doubles action, securing all three matchups:
- Mangeon/L. Queguiner defeated Alcala/Diaz Martin (FSU) (6-4)
- Palma/E. Queguiner took down Boban/Bolen (FSU) (6-3)
- Karos/Vatteroni dominated Fisher/Haley (FSU) (6-1)
The Firebirds carried their momentum into singles, winning all six matches:
- Louis Mangeon def. Cole Alcala (FSU) 4-6, 7-5, 1-0(4)
- Louka Queguiner def. German Diaz Martin (FSU) 6-4, 6-0
- Sebastiano Palma def. Viktor Boban (FSU) 6-1, 6-1
- Elouan Queguiner def. Matt Bolen (FSU) 6-3, 6-0
- Oskar Karos def. Noah Fisher (FSU) 6-2, 6-1
- Ghali Ouajahat Filali def. Jason Haley (FSU) 6-1, 6-1
Up next UDC (4-3, 0-1 ECC) will head to Mt. St. Mary's on Tuesday for a 3:00pm match up.
