WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team fell to tough regional opponent Adelphi University 2-5 at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds slip to 5-6 on the year.
Louis Mangeon and Louka Queguiner defeated their opponents 6-4 at No.1, but the Panthers took the win at No.3, and went on to win at No.2, to clinch the doubles point.
Oskar Karos evened out the score 1-1 after cruising to a 6-1, 6-1victory at No.5 singles.
AU went on to win at No. 1, 3 and 4 to clinch the match.
Queguiner, battled through a three set match up, after forcing a tiebreaker set, but eventually fell at No. 2 (6-3, 4-6, 6-4).
The Firebirds final point of the day came at the No.6 position, where Mauricio Corty was able to edge his opponent, 7-6(5), 2-6, 1-0(4).
Up next UDC (5-6, 0-2 ECC) will head to Daemen University next Saturday for a conference match up.
