UDC Men’s Soccer Falls to Queens College 4-0

Flushing, N.Y. - The University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team faced a tough 4-0 defeat against Queens College in an East Coast Conference matchup at Knights Field. Despite their efforts, the Firebirds struggled to find a breakthrough against a strong Queens side.

Queens College opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Harry Cooke found the back of the net with an unassisted goal. Cooke struck again in the 66th minute, converting a through ball from Jason Udo to extend Queens' lead to 2-0.

Moments later, in the 69th minute, Kevin Johnson added a third goal for Queens, with an assist from Eyob Gaffigan. The Lions sealed the match with a fourth and final goal by Kleverson Bolanos in the 74th minute after beating UDC's goalkeeper to tap the ball into an empty net.

Despite creating 10 total shots, UDC was unable to capitalize on their chances. Santiago Gordillo Martinez led the Firebirds with 3 shots, 1 of which was on target, but Queens goalkeeper Thanasis Shehadeh made 2 key saves to keep the clean sheet.
