UDC Men's Lacrosse Drops Conference Match Up to Nationally Ranked Mercy University

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team fell to a red-hot Mercy College squad on Saturday afternoon, 23–3, at the UDC Sports Complex Turf Field. The matchup marked another East Coast Conference contest for the Firebirds, who continue to battle through a competitive spring slate.

The Mavericks jumped out to an 8–0 lead in the first quarter. The Firebirds struggled to match the pace and offensive depth of Mercy, who tallied goals from 12 different players.

UDC's goals came courtesy of Julian Schemm and Dylan Donaldson each finding the back of the net in the second half. Despite the lopsided score, the Firebirds continued to show resilience and hustle, with goalkeeper Israel Amajioyi recording 23 saves to slow the Mavericks' attack.

UDC (0-9, 0-3 ECC) is back in action on April 10th with a Conference match up at D'Youville.
