PHILADELPHIA, PA – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team faced a tough matchup on the road, falling 19-3 to Holy Family University on Sunday afternoon. The Firebirds fought hard but were unable to contain the Tigers' offensive firepower.
Holy Family (5-1) jumped out to an early lead, scoring seven unanswered goals in the first quarter. The Firebirds found the back of the net twice in the second quarter, courtesy of Maxwell Hansberry and Julian Schemm, but trailed 10-2 at halftime.
The Tigers extended their lead in the third quarter, adding six more goals, while UDC was held scoreless. Jahi Guise managed to add a goal for the Firebirds late in the fourth quarter, but Holy Family closed the game out with a dominant performance.
