WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to ECC foe Roberts Wesleyan 24-5, Saturday afternoon at the Jackson Reed H.S Field.Prior to the game, the Firebirds celebrated goalkeeper #42 Najee Wilson for senior day.
Wilson made a game and career high 28 saves to lead the Firebirds on the defensive end. Dylan Donaldson had a team high three points on two goals and an assist and Jordan Schemm, Julian Schemm and Jahi Guise each added a goal of their own.
The Firebirds went 19-22 in clears and the Redhawks went 22-23. The game-changer came at the Face-off line where RWU won 29 compared to UDC's three. The visiting team also took a total of 67 shots compared to the home team's 21.
Up next, UDC (1-10, 0-4 ECC) will complete their season next Saturday at Frostburg State University. The game is slated to begin at 1:00pm.
