WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team defeated the Virginia University of Lynchburg 90-65 to earn their first win of the season at home.
Four Firebirds scored in the double-figures, with Tevin Curtis and Elijah Crawford scoring a game-high 15 points apiece. Hartnel Haye scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high nine nine rebourds and freshman Rejuan Gray scored 10 points.
UDC shot at 45.9% from the field while holding the Dragons to 31.7%. They dominated in the paint with 42 points compared to their opponents 28 points and forced 29 turnovers and converting 35 points off of those turnovers.
Up next, UDC (1-2) will host cross town rival Bowie State University on Saturday. Tip-off is set for noon.
