NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named All-Region honorees for outdoor track & field in Division II, and the University of the District of Columbia has seven representatives on the East Region Team.

NEW ORLEANS - The University of the District of Columbia women's outdoor track and field team is ranked No. 8 in the East Region according to the latest USTFCCCA poll released May 8th. Also, several individual Firebirds are regionally ranked in their respective events, including Kaneesha Hollis and Callister Jones, who are also ranked nationally in the 400M.

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Avoiding disaster after almost colliding with a team that had dropped its baton, University of the District of Columbia's 4x400M Team of Callister Jones, Kaydian Jones, Kimoy Mais and Kaneesha Hollis ran a season best time of 3:51.98 to take first place at the Kehoe Twilight Meet hosted by the University of Maryland.

BALTIMORE, MD - The University of the District of Columbia women's track and field squad competed in the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday, April 21st. The team was not at full strength, however, as the Firebirds were preparing for Thursday's Penn Relays event.

NEW ORLEANS - Kaneesha Hollis and Callister Jones are ranked 19th and 27th in the nation, respectively in the 400M event, according to the latest USTFCCCA poll released today. The dynamic duo are No. 1 and 2 in the East Region as well, and they are among several Firebirds ranked in the top-10 regionally in their respective events.

CHARLOTTE, NC - University of the District of Columbia's 400M runners Kaneesha Hollis and Callister Jones turned in huge personal best performances to lead the Firebirds at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational in Charlotte, NC. The duo finished 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the 2nd Heat of the 400M.

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The University of the District of Columbia women's track and field squad proved very competitive in a field of mostly Division I schools as it participated in the 2012 Maryland Invitational on Saturday, March 31st.

Callister Jones shaved nearly two seconds off her personal best in the 400M. She is very close to the NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark.

After a Friday morning practice, the University of the District of Columbia Women's Track & Field team started out their volunteer day by getting a visit from UDC's recently inducted Hall of Famer Liz Young McNair (UDC's first Track & Field All-American). Then the team went on to work at the Rock 'n' Roll USA Marathon Health & Fitness Expo.
