Firebirds Have Strong Showing at Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic

Wilmington, De- The University of the District of Columbia's women's cross country team had strong performances at the Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic, Friday morning, to complete their first 5k of the season.

Kamille Dixon led UDC with a time of 20:38.5 to place 6^th out of a field of 65 other runners. Dixon's time is the fastest ran by a Firebird since record holder Stella Sang's 18:38 back in 2007. Next up for the Firebirds was teammate Ayesha Jarrett with a time of 23:29.5 in her college debut. She was followed by Fanta Sanogo and Chacoia Wilkes who ran 25:28.2 and 26:55.2 respectively.

Next up, UDC will head to N.Y. on Saturday, September 25, to compete at Roberts Wesleyan College.
