Dixon Leads Firebirds with a Strong Finish in Season Opener.
TOWSON, Md- The University of the District of Columbia's women's cross-country team opened their season at the Towson Invitational on Saturday morning. The Firebirds were led by Kamille Dixon, who had a strong fifth place finish amongst a field of 49 runners.
Dixon, in her college debut, ran a time of 15:30.20 to place fifth amongst a competitive field. UDC also saw strong showings from Fanta Sanogo who ran a time of 18:53.30 and Chacoia Wilkes who finished with a time of 19:49.30.
"We had some really great performances today," said Head Coach Simone Grant. "It marked the standard for what is to come in the next few meets. I am excited to see remarkable performances over the next few weeks including ECC."
The Firebirds are off next weekend but will be back in action on Friday, September 17th at the Delaware Goldey Beacom meet.
