Four Firebirds Run Career-Bests at Delaware State Pre-Conference Run Invitational

SMYRNA, DE – Four Firebirds ran career-best times on the Delaware State 5K course as the University of the District of Columbia women's cross country team competed in the DSU Pre-Conference Run Invitational this past Saturday, October 15th.

Freshman Niasia Harding led the Firebirds with a career-best time of 23:49.30, knocking nearly one minute off her last outing at this course back on September 24th and placing 10th on the school's all-time best times list at Delaware State.

Next in was senior Brittany Okon, who finished with a career-best time of 24:07.20 – over a minute faster than her last outing and good for 11th on the all-time list. Junior Shayna Hodge followed with a career-best time of 24:20.30 and placed 12th on the all-time list.

The 4th finisher for UDC was junior Kenlyn Duncan, who ran a time of 25:22.00 and finished 16th on the school's all-time DSU course run list. Coming in 14 seconds apart as the 5th and 6th finishers for UDC were freshman Deasia Greer (31:00.8) and senior Stacy-Ann Rowe (31:14.1).

Next up, the Firebirds will run in the East Coast Conference Championships hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY.
