Sang Comes in 3rd at Hood Invitational

Frederick, MD: October 20, 2007—UDC sophomore Stellah Sang finished in 3rd place today in the Hood College Invitational, in Frederick, Maryland. Sang posted a 23:38 finish among 73 runners in the 6K event.

Junior Irene Rono completed the course in 25:59 for an 8th place finish, while junior Maurisa Williams came in 28th in 28:29. Sophomore Shakira Watford finished in 47th place with a time of 30:56, junior Danielle Cook came in 58th in 32:31, and freshman Erica Nixon finished 63rd in 33:20. The Lady Firebirds finished in 4th place overall with 91 points and a total time of 2:21:03.00.

Now that the regular season has ended, the Lady Firebirds are prepared for the Southeast Regionals on November 3, in Wingate, North Carolina.
