UDC Women’s Volleyball Falls to CW post 3-0

Long Island, NY – The UDC Women's Volleyball Team ended its weekend trip to New York with a loss to ECC foe CW Post in three sets 3-0.  The Firebirds fall to 1-7 in the East Coast Conference and 9-16 overall, while the Pioneers advance to 11-12 on the year and 4-4 in the conference.

In the first set CW Post took a 24-18 lead, but the Firebirds rattled off five consecutive points to pull within one.  CW Post held on to win 25-23.  Although the Firebirds battled the rest of the match, they fell in the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20. 

In the loss, the Firebirds were paced by junior outside hitter/ middle back Vanessa Garley (Rio Rancho, NM - Rio Rancho HS), who hit .321 with 11 kills. Junior libero Grace Perilli (Lewisburg, WV – Independence HS) and freshman setter Kamene Rose (Chula Vista, CA – Hilltop HS) shared the team lead in digs with 14 each.

The Firebirds return to action on Friday as they travel back up to New York to take on Queens College.
