UDC Sweeps Catholic, 3-0, in Volleyball for Fifth Win in A Row

Washington, DC: September 7, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team defeated the Catholic University Cardinals, 3-0, tonight in three straight sets at the UDC Sports Complex. Junior outside hitter Vanessa Garley (Business major-Rio Rancho, NM) paced the Firebirds to the win tallying 12 kills.

The match scores were 25-15, 25-11 and 25-20. This was the fifth consecutive sweep for the Firebirds as they improved their record to 5-0.

UDC travels to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida later this week to compete in the NOVA Southeastern University's Shark's Tournament, September 10-11.  They will face Arkansas Tech in the opening round of the Tournament.
