Virginia State Downs UDC, 3-1

Petersburg, VA: September 30, 2009—Nikkisha Walker led the Virginia State University Trojans to a, 3-1, win over the visiting University of the District of Columbia Firebirds tonight in Petersburg, Virginia. Walker had 11 kills,  3 service aces and 16 digs in pacing the Trojans to the victory.

Brooke Wilson added 7 kills, 3 service aces , 9 digs and 3 blocks for  the Trojans, followed by Brittany Pittman with 5 kills, 2 service aces,  and 19 digs. Junior middle hitter Karen Trevino led the Firebird scoring with 11 kills, 1 service ace, and 13 digs. Ashley Jefferson (Manvel, TX) a Firebird  junior middle hitter made 7 kills, 2 service aces, 1 assist and 16 digs.

The Firebirds  ( 1-6) will be back in action on Saturday, October 3, against Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
