Firebirds Dominate in Victory Over the Wildcats; UDC Celebrates Three Seniors

WASHINGTON, DC- Simoné Pärn, Sofia Bellucco, and Joanna Skrzypczynska were celebrated as seniors of the UDC women's tennis team, Friday morning at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds snatched up another conference win with a dominating 7-0 performance over Daemen College.

UDC (8-0, 4-0 ECC) has not conceded a point since late September, dominating their competition 7-0 for the entire month of October. The doubles point was secured at the No.3 spot with Valentina Brienza and Laura Marie shutting their opponents out 6-0.

After wins at No.5 and 4 singles, Parn secured the win for the Firebirds with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No.1. Mariona Franco, Bellucco and Claudia Bahamon went on to win at No.2, 3 and 6.

UDC is currently the number one team in the conference going into the end of the regular season. Tomorrow they will host D'Youville at the UDC tennis courts to secure their tournament seed position. The first match is slated to go off at 1:00 pm.
