Firebirds Continue Winning Streak with a 7-0 Victory over USciences

PHILADELPHIA, PA- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a 2-0 record, after defeating USciences, Sunday evening at the Hamlin Center. The Firebirds improved their record to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

UDC started off with wins at No. 2 and 3 to grab the double points. They then went on to win all six singles matches to remain undefeated on the season.

After a tough 6-3 doubles loss, Simoné Pärn went on to defeat her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 to win the first singles point of the match for the Firebirds. She was followed by Mariona Franco and Laura Marie, who secured the winning point with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No.5.

Next up the Firebirds will travel back to Pennsylvania to take on Millersville, on Wednesday, October 13 at 2:00 pm.
