The University of the District of Columbia Women’s Tennis Team Ranked # 3 in ITA East Region

Washington, DC - The UDC Women's Tennis Team had a very successful 2011 campaign as they hoisted the ECC Championship trophy at the end of the season. As a result, the nation is taking notice as the Firebirds received the # 3 ranking in the ITA East Region. It is a tremendous milestone for a young program that has just recently joined the East Coast Conference last year.

The team also had many players ranked regionally in the ITA East for singles and doubles. Highlighting the rankings was Sophomore Jessica Nunez who was selected as the 6th best player in singles play and 10th in doubles play with Senior Maria Vitkina. Junior Kristyna Nepivodova also earned a high ranking in singles play, coming in at the # 10 spot in the region.
