Firebirds Lose in Season Opener

ALBANY, NY - The University of the District of Columbia Women's Lacrosse team opened their season with an 18-5 loss to The College of St. Rose on Saturday afternoon.

The Firebirds (0-1, 0-0 ECC), registered three goals in the first half with freshman Da'zah Regusters making her first collegiate goal of her career.

Regusters was not the only freshman to record their first collegiate goal, as Terri Nashe registered a goal in the first half. Experience in senior, Kianna Franklin saw her grab a goal to open her account for the season.

In the second half, the game was a lot more tightly contested, with the score only being 5-2 to the home side. The second period saw Regusters grab her second of the game along with Madison Boykin who found the net off her only shot of the game.

The Firebirds will return to action on Wednesday, March 4th, when they visit Post University at 3PM.
