UDC Women’s Lacrosse Defeated at Dowling

SHIRLEY, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women's lacrosse team was defeated, 19-1 by East Coast Conference foe, Dowling on Sunday afternoon.

The No. 18 nationally-ranked Golden Lions won their 3rd straight game to improve to 10-4 overall (5-1 ECC) on a day that Dowling honored its three graduating seniors, including the game's highest scorer, Jackie Andersen. The nation's 8th leading scorer in Division II registered 10 points on game-highs of four goals and six assists.

Andersen scored three goals and assisted three others in the first half alone as Dowling took a commanding 13-0 lead into halftime. She would assist the first two goals of the second half and add her 4th goal in the second half to add to her total.

Junior midfielder Amber Walls (Biology – Temple Hills, MD/Surrattsville HS) scored her team-high 15th goal of the season with just under 21 minutes left to play in regulation as UDC avoided its 2nd straight shutout.

Sophomore defender Dominique Dotson (Political Science – Coram, NY/Liberty) had a standout day defensively for the Firebirds with a game-high three caused turnovers and three groundballs. Sophomore goalkeeper Dani Falco (Elementary Education – Middletown, NY/Valley Central HS) made nine saves in a complete game effort.

UDC will wrap up the program's 2nd season with a home game, Sunday, April 26th at 4 p.m. vs. ECC foe St. Thomas Aquinas. The game will be played at Georgetown Multi Sport Field.
