Lacrosse Coaches Melynda Zwick Brown and Scott Urick to Interview on In and Out of Sports Radio Show Sunday

WASHINGTON, DC – Host Butch Adams, a University of the District of Columbia alum, will interview Melynda Zwick Brown and Scott Urick, head coaches of the Firebirds start-up women's and men's lacrosse programs, on Sunday afternoon on his In and Out of Sports Talk Radio show at 12 p.m.

Director of Athletics Patricia Thomas will also make a guest appearance to talk about the school's decision to add the sport of lacrosse as well as the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as the Firebirds attempt to compete in the East Coast Conference – one of Division II's most elite lacrosse leagues.

East Coast Conference Commissioner Bob Dranoff said the conference is very excited about the prospect of University of the District of Columbia adding men's and women's lacrosse.

"Our conference has enjoyed significant success in these two sports on a regional and national level for many years," Dranoff said. "[Last year's] Division II National Champions, LIU Post (women) and Dowling (men) are both charter members of the ECC. We strongly believe that the addition of lacrosse at the University of the District of Columbia will not only be a great plus for the Firebird athletic program and the ECC, but for Division II lacrosse as well."

Zwick Brown and Urick will both talk about the their respective playing and coaching backgrounds, the formation of their respective programs, and both will highlight their progress with regard to recruiting.
