Benjamin Nets Season High 18 Points to Lead Firebirds to a 58-44 Conference Victory Over the Knights

FLUSHING, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's basketball team defeated Queen's College in their last meetup of the season, on Saturday afternoon. This win gave UDC their sixth conference victory improving their record to 10-10, 6-5 in league play while the Knights fell to 2-16, 1-10 ECC.

Kensley Benjamin led the Firebirds offensively going 8-15 from the field to total a season-high and game-high 18 points. Ronnasia Blatch-Huggins posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds and added three steals and three blocks.

Benjamin scored 11 of her 18 points in the first quarter, also accounting for UDC's first six points. UDC would take a ten-point lead going into half time which they would ride out to a 14 point lead to win the game.

UDC (10-10, 6-5 ECC) will host D'Youville College in a make-up game scheduled for Monday at 3:300pm. UDC Athletics is currently not allowing spectators, but the game will be live-streamed on the ECC network.
