Hillary Mugun Receives ECC Runner of the Year for Men’s Cross Country

Washington, DC - Senior Hillary Mugun (Accounting – Nandi Hills, Kenya/Meteitei) was named the East Coast Conference Runner of the Year for men's cross country.  Mugun has put together a very impressive season after being named the pre-season ECC Runner of the Year back in August. 

Mugun began the season with a 1^st place victory in the Delaware State Invitational with a time of 15:31 on the 5K course.  He again finished in 1^st several weeks later in the 8K course at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational with a time of 26:26.  Mugun earned the ECC Men's Runner of the Week award for the weeks ending September 9^th and October 7^th. 

In his most recent race, Mugun finished 1^st overall with a time of 26:01 on the 8K course in Brookville, NY at the East Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Championships hosted by LIU Post.  This victory marks the first ever individual ECC title for any Firebird cross country runner.

Mugun and the Firebirds will next compete in the NCAA East Regional Championship in Nashua, NH on November 4^th.
