Hillary Mugun Earns ECC First Team All-Conference Award

Washington, DC – The University of the District of Columbia's Cross Country Teams competed in Brookville, NY Sunday at the ECC Championships. All-American Junior Hillary Mugun (Nandi Hills, Kenya) received a First Team All-Conference accolade after having a tremendous season.

Mugun has shown success throughout the year. Early on in September, Hillary finished second at the Delaware State University Invitational with a time of 16:06 minutes. At the C.W. Post Invitational Mugun earned a 6th place finish with a time of 26:48 minutes. His finishing time was among the top 20 in course history at C.W. Post. Mugun was also selected to the ECC Honor Roll twice this season for his performances.  Then to finish out the regular season, Mugun finished in a time of 25:54.69 on Sunday to take second place at the ECC Championships. 

Mugun is among the country's top collegiate cross-country runners.  He transferred to the District of Columbia after his Freshman year from Indiana University of Pennsylvania after becoming the school's first men's cross-country All-American in nearly 20 years.
